One name you hear, and the entire world would cast a spell. The light of knowledge, the evergreen body you call. Most of us know who the person is and what his contributions were to the world. He, who was born mortal in body but died leaving the body within us, who means so much to us i.e. Shakespeare.

Shakespeare, the immortal name in the literary field cannot be separated from the study of literature. He was born in the year 1564, England. He is considered to be one of the greatest of the greatest writers of all time. And the line from the hamlet called, to be or not to be’, is the most popular line that lives in every mouth even today. It’s been more than three hundred years, he died, but his contributions to the literary field are such that nobody can forget about him.

He has written almost thirty-nine plays, and one hundred and fifty-four sonnets along with three long narrative poems. He wrote tragedies like Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. He first began his successful career in London as an actor and then as a writer. Most of his writing served the socio-economic theme of the period of his time, however, his writings are such that it serves as the universality of the language. His writings survive even today in the 21st century because of the fact that it has the quality of relatability among the readers.

Shakespeare through literature had been able to shape the language. He has shown away what language holds and what it can do. The power of words that he uses in the delivery of his characters are just amazing. He knows how tactfully the lines are given based on how certain characters are predicted to be. Coming to poetry, he introduced the sonnet, known as Shakespearan sonnet, which consists of 14 lines. The most unique way of what poetry can be.

Not just that, he has also introduced interior monologue style where a character is thrown in the climax and is shown he/she is having a constant conversation within oneself.

Shakespeare worked as a dramatist creating plays of his own, but the way he lived his entire life living with a pen is inspiring. Living in a world of today, where a profession like writing has either been a secondary side choice of passion, or hobby rest down to the backseat is even more of an inspiring subject especially for someone who realizes the power that comes through words.

The subjectivity of writing is so intense and the fact that it is thoughtful is what draws much attention to someone like me who is a writer enthusiast at heart.

Therefore, to write about someone or something that changed the world the way we used to look in some years before and the way we tend to look at it now is something that does not register itself on a grand scale. The event, or he/she who has been able to reverberate with his anomalistic contributions can even make it happen today. Shakespeare not only placed himself as a writer of the Elizabethan period but also made his name placed in our hearts and that is more than enough. Therefore, taking a good note on what he offered to the world today, I think his birth itself was a historic beginning that literally paved the world for better. The biggest truth of history itself signifies how significant his name is and shall be remembered forever.

The one who left and lived with a legacy and who made a visible difference to the world.

We all love you, dear Shakespeare.
