Education is one of the most basic requirements of our country. The younger generation need the infrastructure as well as the financial backing to pursue their dreams. But there are some unfortunate incidents which can sometimes put a dent in the progress of the career of the students. There are cases when the brave soldiers, servicemen, police personnel and many more government related employees loose their lives, while protecting the honour of the country or in some shameless activities by the terrorists. In such cases, the families of the deceased suffer a lot due to many factors especially financially. So, for such scenarios, our honourable Prime Minister has started a scholarship scheme. According to this scheme, scholarship is given to children and widow of those who have lost their earning family member in terrorist and Naxalite attacks.

Know the Eligibility for Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme

Along with the above scenario, if some defence personnel have become disabled during service, then scholarship can be given to such families also. The amount of this scholarship is rupees 2500 for boysand 3000 for girls. From the eligibility point of view, a student needs to have at least 60% in his/her 12th/Diploma/Graduation examinations to get this scholarship.

Time period for filling the form

The forms for this scheme are filled during the month of October and November. For this year, the last date to fill the form was October 15.So, the students who have filled the form in the stipulated time and are eligible, will get their amount in their bank account by 31st December, 2021.

Courses Eligible of Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme

The scholarship is applicable for all the courses which are recognised by the Government Regulatory Bodies like AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), MCI(Medical Council of India), UGC(University Grants Commission).

Time duration of the scholarship

The duration of scholarship differs according to the duration of the degree course. There is also provision for the renewal of scholarship after a gap of one year in some cases.
