Never in human history has a pandemic raced so far ahead of other infections. After a long period of confusion among humans, Health-care providers, scientists, researches began to rally against the Covid-19 pandemic which showed unity is strength. All of humanity began to race against time to find a solution. But time was ticking and hundreds of people died every hour and thousands of people died every day. Humanity was almost on the brink of extinction because of Covid-19 threatening to wipe out all of us. Every hospital was working around the clock determined to find an antidote that would put an end to this terrible pandemic.
One day all the humans could breathe a sigh of relief since the first vaccine has been made . Soon millions of lives were saved and humanity once again lived peacefully. This was one of the very few instances where all of humanity worked together. It is that very thing that inspires me the most. I absolutely love it when all of us get to work together and give our own ideas though it is seen pretty rarely. I want to see that very often because all of us could definitely crack a solution if we join hands together no matter what the problem is. Even if we fail after being united I think it’s completely fine because failure is not the opposite of success, it is a part of it. This is what inspired a lot of people like it did to me. One single treaty stopped a world war and that shaped the United Nations. Let’s take a basic example copper is a soft metal which can be twisted by hand easily. But if we take tin, a metal weaker than copper and mix it with copper, it forms bronze which is one of the strongest alloys. If unity is seen in metals, then it can be seen in superior beings like us.
I take inspiration from people who brought unity to any place which was scattered to pieces. One of them is Mahatma Gandhi. He brought unity to India which was heartbroken by the British treating them as slaves. One day the British divided the Indian subcontinent as India and Pakistan so as to prevent the Hindus and Muslims joining together and rallying against them. Soon Gandhi who was 76 years old by then was disheartened by the religious hatred and spoke to the Hindus and Muslims as he believed in one unified India. He lead India in the freedom movement and Pakistan was led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah who together share many great ideas that were carried out to free India and Pakistan from the British rule.
Another example of similar nature was an independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Known for his notable contribution to Indian independence, Vallabhbhai Patel is famous for bringing about unity to 562 princely states of India which formed the political boundary of India. This earned him the title of “The Ironman of India”.
These are some of the people who took up unity to greater heights and they always wanted to see a unified world. These very people made great strides in bringing about unity. I always take inspiration from them and try to incorporate the same in my situation.
About 3 years ago we were divided by Covid-19 which threatened the humanity but all of us joined forces and counter-attacked Covid-19 and found a solution to control one of the most dangerous viruses in history. But now we are being divided by conflict among ourselves. At one end Russia is fighting with Ukraine and on the other Israel is at war with Palestine. That means after all the struggles taken by many great personalities to unite the world has almost gone fruitless. These wars could destroy the unity in humanity. Instead if we join together all of us can achieve many things that benefits humanity because enmity can only be extinguished by unity. A suitable example for this is that India and China are two great countries always at war at recent times. India had sent a satellite to the south pole of the moon while China had sent their own satellite to the farthest point on the moon. If both these nations are united by intellect they can achieve many great feats. If all of humanity is united, we can face any threat, major or minor, without fear.
