Imagine a world where machines not only assist humans but also create art, predict diseases, and drive cars—this is not science fiction but the reality of AI, a groundbreaking trend reshaping our daily lives. Tremendous amounts of AI-generated pictures used in advertisement, video recommendation AI, codes written by powerful AI chatbots, and many AI involved contents are encountered in our daily lives.
AI usage skyrocketed in 2022 with the debut of ChatGPT, a groundbreaking language model chatbot. Chat GPT was developed from the AI developing company, OpenAI, and GPT-3.5 was released in March 2022, March. It was a powerful AI that usually answers with advance and more than impressiveness. People started to use GPT, and did not just use it as a simple chatbot, but connecting it with other fields, which were programming, scripting, data analyzing, etc. Now, after two years, artificial intelligence has become a trend and one of essentials of trend, due to its powerful competence.
AI is able to import and analyze enormous amounts of data, and give significant outputs. Dall-E, an image generative AI built in GPT, uses pictures in stock image company, Shutterstock, to analyze and learn pictures with classifications, creating algorithms that can be used to generate pictures according to a prompt. In this case, Dall-E can produce multiple works in a short amount of time with astonishing completeness. By simply giving massive inputs, AI easily desolate data, extracts patterns, and produces these as a data analysis itself, or creates new output with an algorithm made in processes. It makes mass calculations with such complexity, to use with more ease and adaptability. AI can unzip the information into potent data.
AI has a critical versatility to any field. AI was used in the research that won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry last October, for successfully predicting structures of proteins. Object eraser tool in Samsung’s android, uses AI to distinguish object and background, and create a natural picture without erased objects. Tesla’s electric cars use AI to navigate in Autopilot mode. From analysis of little compounds to photo editing, and car driving, AI is widely used in diverse fields that can be computed. Orbital calculation, sports analysis, and evaluating arts, diversity and flexibility of AI enabled it to connect different fields.
AI has the potential to be even more powerful. General usage of AI has erupted from 2022, the appearance of Chat GPT. Since then, it has been only two years, and it has already started to replace previous AIs with new versions, and new AIs are developed from other companies. Chat GPT-4 and 4o model has been released, Adobe announce the new features assisted by AI.
Moreover, computer science defines these AIs as a “weak AI,” and gives the theoretical potential of “Artificial General Intelligence,” or AGI, that is advanced and complex enough to use that specific AGI in general situations without any modifications. It will be able to adapt in any situation or fields, understanding the task, and resolve it with a solutions that can be thought outside of the box, or omnipotent.With its not-discovered potential and easy union of AI with previous technology, it is a captivating field that just started to perform, and it has a great potential to be a world changer.
To sum up, AI is a new trend that has powerful functions, diverse flexibility, and great potential to be greater as a supportive and active tool for human civilization
