IPL is called the Mahakumbh of cricket , There is no dearth of cricket lovers in the country , If the countrymen like any sport the most, then it is cricket. The passion of cricket is seen in every street and locality, from children to elders and women are also crazy about cricket. It is a sport which is not only watched but also celebrated like a festival.
The full name of IPL is Indian Premier League and it is a professionally played match T20 cricket format, in which batsmen get to see explosive innings. In India today, every team formed in this is named after the 10 big states and cities. Example – Chennai Super Kings named after Chennai, Kolkata Night Riders named after Kolkata, Kings Eleven Punjab named after Punjab, similarly other IPLteams are named after different types of states or big cities.
The league, founded by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) member Lalit Modi in 2007, hosts the IPL in the months of April and May every year. The title sponsor of the IPL in 2016 is Vivo Electronics, thus making the league official. Formally known as Dream 11 Indian Premier League.
The Indian Premier League is played in India and players from different countries participate in it. Indian Premier League matches are played for only twenty overs. It creates an atmosphere of excitement among the spectators and till the last minute people remain in dilemma as to which team will win the match. The sizzling players of the eight teams of the IPL team take part and win the hearts of the audience with their amazing performance.
Only 20 overs are given in the Indian Premier League match. In twenty overs, the batsman and the bowlers get a chance to show their good performance. In whatever stadium the Indian Premier League match is played, the seats are already booked. The whole stadium gets filled with the enthusiasm of the spectators.
It is an Indian League of Cricket in which teams from different states of India participate. There are 20/20 cricket matches between them as we all know that each team consists of players from different countries. Renowned and well known actor and business man had started 8 teams.

The Indian Cricket League started in 2007, which was being funded by Zee Entertainment Enterprise. But BCCI did not recognize ICL and IPL was formed to prevent other players from going to ICL, as well as life ban was imposed on Indian Cricket League being funded by Zee Entertainment Enterprise. But on 13 September 2007 as we know, India had won the 2007 T20 World Cup, and at the same time BCCI had announced IPL which is T20 Format Cricket Tournament scheduled over different types of Franchises and in April Its first match was played in 2008.
In today’s IPL, a wonderful prize money has also been kept, in which players are being bought for crores, the winning team is given a prize of crores of rupees.
When IPL was being formed then Lalit Modi, who was the Vice President of BCCI, had explained its entire functioning together. Along with this, it was also told that whatever comes out of this IPL, it will be a 7-member Governing Council, in which all the members will include former players of the Indian Cricket Team, BCCI officials, and some IPL players.
In 2019, the market capitalization of IPL was $7.44 billion, which is more than $11B today.An IPL team can have 18 to 25 players, in which the number of foreign players can be 8. The contract period of a player in IPL is one year, if the franchisee wants to extend the contract of a player, then for two years. Can also increase. No Pakistani players have the right to participate in IPL.
When the IPL started, Pakistani players used to participate in it, but later they were banned from taking part in the IPL.
