( This poem describes the emotional state of all the children who are victims of brutal wars, how their colorful life changed to sorrowful gray.)
Where are the colors
that painted my world?
A beautiful canvas
that I vaguely remember.
.
That rainbow in the sky,
bringing joy to my face.
Blue sky and green fields,
a blissful summer shield.
Bright, yellow mischievous sun,
sharing laughter and hysterical fun.
That pink dress, my sister loved,
her long black hair.
My mother’s golden skin,
her peachy cheeks.
My father’s everlasting love for his brown hair,
admiring in the mirror he would always stare.
I remember the laugh we share,
looking at the airplane from the stairs.
Roaring in the sky it came,
all the children waved for its glory and fame.
Then in a moment!
A loud boom…
A deafening sound…
Everything doomed…
My last wave to the airplane,
my last laughter,
my last moment with my heart,
my mother, father, sister!
Now, I stand in front of the vast sea,
mighty mountains mocking me.
I once lived in colors, but they bid farewell,
Now all I have left to live are the hues of gray.
