The world of academia is shifting to online, which provides ease and accessibility to students but still, the instructors and teachers face the challenge of keeping the class engaged. When the task as important and sometimes boring depending on the course, becomes too accessible from the bed of your room, you are bound to fall asleep mid-lecture or get distracted. It is every tutor’s responsibility to make class interactive, keeping the students focused no matter the means of teaching, be it online or in person.

A part of the responsibility falls on the students too to be serious regarding their education but students often ask ‘Can someone take my class for me in the USA?’ due to other responsibilities as well and would prefer catching up through recorded lectures or resources later during exam season than attending a class live.

Ways to Make Online Class Interesting

Strategizing before an online class about how the instructor will keep the class engaged is key to an active classroom with a vibrant environment. Here are a few ideas to make online classes interesting:

Present Yourself Nicely

Seeing the instructor in action and not just hearing a discarnate voice will make the classroom more engaging. Talking directly to the camera will hold the attention and help connect with the students personally. It is important to sit at a suitable distance with proper lighting and a calming background as any mess or movement in the back can cause unnecessary distractions.

Set Rules

Good strategies include setting a structure for the proceedings of class and that is to set rules. The professor or teacher should lay out the expectations and code of conduct for students beforehand so students also play their part in actively participating in class. This can include how students are to present themselves in class, when or when they’re not allowed to unmute and speak, how they can forward their work, and more.

Plan Interactive Activities

Interactive sessions are the most successful way of keeping every student engaged. This can be done by incorporating puzzles, quizzes, presentations, and brainstorming sessions into regular teaching methods. Having a planned exciting activity gives the students to look forward to something and helps them interact with their classmates as how they would have in physical class.

Gamification of Classes

Gamification can be a great aid for engagement. Several research shows that it’s an effective way of encouraging students to be more involved in online lessons as games make learning and online classes so much more fun and memorable. This is especially the case if the instructor has taken the time to craft a gamification strategy by keeping the learners in mind. Implementing game mechanics into your online classroom is recommended. Better yet, game mechanics are not resource-intensive, time-consuming, and expensive to prepare. With the thousands of free educational games and tools online, you can easily employ games with little or no effort.

Inviting Guest Speakers

Inviting guest speakers in the online classroom significantly enhances the learning experience through the sharing of real-life experiences and multiple perspectives, and building connections for students, hence making the classes even more interactive. To be effective, educators should identify relevant topics from the curriculum, identify suitable professionals or alumni who can share their expertise, and plan sessions that allow for interaction. Follow-up after the session with activities that involve reflection and a thank-you note to the guest speaker will help solidify the experience and make connections that are important for students in both their academic and professional lives.

Using Multimedia

Embedding rich multimedia resources like videos, podcasts, and interactive simulations into the virtual classroom environment can increase interactivity. Media resources will enable educators to illustrate abstract concepts in an intuitive manner that is both more comprehensible and relevant. These could be videos that actually show how a theoretical principle works, or even podcasts that provide valuable experiences from professionals or experts in the area. The combination of these different formats keeps students interested and motivated to participate in active learning.

Conclusion

To make online classes interesting is a real hard work. It requires virtual contact with students and a vivid academic atmosphere. Each tutor needs to plan for their online class, explain the rules of communication, and provide an activity plan that would encourage students to be active to do my online class. Gamification strategies will turn lessons into fun, while guest speakers will add relevance and multiple perspectives to the real world. Also, by the use of multimedia resources learning will be enhanced through consideration of a variety of learning styles. With the use of such approaches, instructors can raise student motivation and involvement, thereby providing an effective online learning environment where no student would ever have to say ‘Can someone take my class for me’.
