Both serve the same purpose of making money for living but the digital nomadism is an emerging alternative for an office-based job. Both are different in the term of location, working hours, and lifestyle.

  1. Work Location: In traditional jobs, working location is set by the employer and the employee needs to adhere to the location of the work with less flexibility to move. In Digital Nomadism, the employee is allowed to work from anywhere instead of a defined location.
  2. Working Hours: working hours of traditional jobs are defined generally as from 9 to 5 with little flexibility. A digital nomad can work whenever they want but before the deadline. Here digital nomad gets the working hours flexibility.
  3. Job Security and Income Stability: Job security and Income stability are the benefits of a traditional job as income and job is secured plus the employee can get enjoy health insurance or retirement benefits. Job security is low in digital nomadism and income is fluctuating as it is based on contracts.
  4. Work-life Balance:  In the traditional jobs, work life balance is defined by the company policies and company environment. The employee is not allowed to work from anywhere or they don’t have flexible hours so work-life balance is little low and if company policies are not better employees can feel dissatisfied.
  5. Social Network: In traditional job, employee can interact with colleagues or teammates face to face or can attend office functions or events. Digital nomads are connected to team members virtually there is no actual interaction between them but as digital nomads travel places to places, they meet new people very often and can broaden their network.
  6. Travelling: Employees in traditional jobs don’t get to travel more and their traveling is limited to business trips or vacations. Digital Nomads can travel wherever they want whenever they want and the exploration opportunities are endless.
  7. Type of Work: Traditional occupations are frequently found in sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and retail that demand a physical presence. These positions typically need in-person contacts with coworkers or clients. With precise job descriptions, well-defined responsibilities, and less daily variety, the function is frequently more rigidly structured. Digital nomad tasks can be performed remotely using digital tools and are usually dependent on technology. Software development, graphic design, content creation, digital marketing, web development, customer service, instruction, and consultancy are typical positions.
