Ferocious , it casts a gaze!
It scorches me ,paralyzed I faze.
Burgeoning its reign,
Perforating my brain, Fear emboldens its maze.
With all my wit and grit,
One day, I finally challenged it.
“ Do not frown at me, my dear fear,
For no longer you can enshroud me or tear.
What a long companionship we have had!
I don’t at all say- you are bad.
I cultivated you with all my heart,
And yet many a time you left me aghast. “
But whenever I have conquered you,
A great dawn of success has peeped through.
I thought you know no fear
But anyone can defeat you, oh dear!
No matter what , you relentlessly chase people,
But my submission to you is now conditional.
So do not scare me, my dear fear
I cease to be your slave, is that clear?”
