On December 24th 2000, a girl was born in Zaybaniya a small town in the USA. The town was surround with mountains, dense jungles with beautiful trees and a gorgeous view. When the baby was born her parents were not happy to see her as they wanted a boy so that he would fulfil their wishes and not be a burden on them like a girl would be. After seeing her they decided that there should be no naming ceremony for her as it would be of no use. But the paternal grandmother of Amos forced them to keep a function as she told them it would be very shameful for them to not keep the function and the society would think they are poor. After all that begging from grandmother, they agreed. The function was held on 28th December 2000. Few people were invited. Everyone at the party was excited to know what was going to be the baby’s name, but the parents had a different plan. They were so unhappy to see her that they named her Amos(burden). Everyone in the party was shocked and left in disgust. But her parents did not care and thought it was a perfect name for such a burden. They were always cruel to her and because of this her childhood was ruined. Her parents did not take care of her and she was always crying or hurt and because of the weeping even the neighbors complained about her disturbing them. Yet her parents always blamed her for being ungrateful burden and crying all through the day bringing shame to the family. There was only one thing that made her happy and that was nature. She was not taken care of and was always hurt or bullied by the children in the neighborhood. She was always being called a burden by the children and had no friends. The time passed by and everything was still the same, her parents still hated her, blamed her for everything and thought sending her to school was of no use. Apart from that only one thing changed and that was her love for nature that grew with the passage of time and because of this love she started to sneak out at night to climb the highest mountain in the town. She never gave up on her dream of climbing the mountain even though she was a child. She failed every day but she always started again. On her 12th birthday she was very sad as her parents shouted at her for being born and being a burden for 12 years now. To cheer herself up she sneaked out of the house but she thought today was an unusual day as she was feeling very bad. She got so busy thinking about why she is feeling so bad even when she was near nature, she went on the road and got hit by a speeding car. She got unconscious and was taken to the hospital by the car owner who was a French man named Oliver. Her parents were called from the hospital and they got the news of Amos being in a coma. She woke up from the coma after 5 months. Her parents never came to visit her but Oliver came every day. When she got her consciousness back, she was diagnosed with CIPA (it is a condition in which you don’t feel pain.) and the doctors said she would not live long if the surgery is not done as soon as possible. This was very hard for the girl and Oliver but her parents were happy as they did not want her and then they decided to disown the little girl and never come back to her. The surgery would cost 1 lakh and the medicines she needed to take were almost of 50k dollars and they told the doctor that it was a huge amount to pay for such a burden. She was sent to an orphanage and the orphanage volunteers were very caring and they even collected fund for her surgery. But she did not like it there as she was not able to go out and climb the mountains because of her condition. But Oliver was very guilty of his act and thought he was the one responsible for her plight. So, he decided to Amos home although he was not aware of the fact that her parents never wanted her in their life and considered her a burden. Oliver was not married, had no idea how to raise a child and was going through a financial crisis as his business got in a huge loss. He was not having a lot of money but he always gave Amos everything she deserved. Oliver sold his car and started collecting money for the surgery. After 6 months he collected all the money and then they went to the hospital for the surgery which went successful and now she started to feel the pain again. After the operation the Oliver sent Amos to a school and a class for practicing climbing. Later when she graduated, she started practicing climbing more and more because she wanted to climb the unclimbed mountain “THE GANGKHAR PUENSUM”in Bhutan. After the training for a couple of months, she went to climb the mountain. She faced a lot of struggles and difficulties and was not able to climb the mountain. She tried again and again but was still failing. Oliver never stopped supporting her. After a lot of tries she climbed the unclimbed mountain. She was the first person to climb the mountain. She got a lot of trophies and medals and became very famous. She moved on and forgot about her past life and was not thinking about her parents anymore. She started climbing more and more mountains. She bought a house and moved in with Oliver and she was living her dream life. One day when she was sitting in her garden having tea and reading a newspaper, she read a news about a “house burning down and the old Couple living their getting homeless”.
