A poet is like a candle,
And fame is like a chandelier.

The Candle is one that sheds Light, but itself stays in the dark.

Sometime, I think time and again
Why some poets are destined
To be poor always ?

Maybe it is because they can’ t
Write to the whims and fancies
Of the people in general.

The world has its own notions and theories
About success and failure.
They want poets writing
To the changing trends always!

Then they will give them
Thunderous applause
And bestow awards
And flatter them to the zenith
And give them standing ovation!

Many a poet and poetess
With different
Views and Outlooks
Lived and vanished here
Contributing something
To the mankind always!

There is nothing wrong
In being romantic, devotional
Revolutionary or Spiritual

But it should be sincere
And dedicated always!

Then their poems will outlive
The test of times
And will not get withered
Or perished away
By the pass of time!

Now I am not scared at all
About the candle in front of me
Going to burn out!
But I am under the grip and
Comfort of a Superior Soul
That sheds light always
And let me bow my head
Before that Superior Soul…

  1. naturally like your website however you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very troublesome to tell the truth on the other hand I¦ll certainly come back again.
