If you’ve watched Gossip Girl then you know Blair Waldorf. Also known as the Queen Bee of the Upper East Side, Blair is one of the protagonists despite having antagonistic traits such as selfishness, manipulation and being downright evil. So why would she be a fictional character I would say I relate to?

Throughout the show, the audience watches Blair grow from an insecure high school student to a successful businesswoman. Throughout high school not only are her perfect grades impressive but Blair is also a part of different clubs at her school as well as committee chair for a lot of student charities. Her determination and the handwork she puts into everything she does is something I relate to.

Blair’s loyalty to her friends reminds me of myself, she’s at her friends’ sides no matter the circumstances ready to give her all to protect them. She’s careful when choosing her friends, always making sure she surrounds herself with the people who know her worth.

Blair knows her worth and how she should be treated so when she isn’t treated right she knows she has to stand up for herself. A lot like me, she is fearless and has great wit, when someone insults her she fires back quickly.

“Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen.” This Blair Waldorf quote is one I live by.

I’m not afraid to go after what I want and I work hard for it. In the face of failure, I stay determined and learn from my mistakes. My determination to achieve my goals makes me willing to do whatever it takes to achieve them.

These are reasons Blair Waldorf is the fictional character I relate to the most.
