Education system use e-books instead of traditional books

Imagine failing a test because you didn’t study but you lacked access to the particular book, or even worse, the information has been proven wrong or updated. This scenario isn’t just unfair but shows a neglected fact on the equity of access to resources in the education system. To tackle this problem effectively, I will discuss possible solutions.

One promising solution in adapting to the use of e-books with textbooks getting updated each year is that schools, students, and learners all across the world don’t have enough money to buy new books each year just for them to get updated the following year.

It is easier to keep information online to keep it accurate. I know not everyone likes to stare at a screen, but thanks to today’s technology, we have e-books and e-book readers, which are more affordable and can carry hundreds of books all at once, and most e-books come in just the price of two to three text books; moreover, most online books have the option to just print out the chapter or page on one’s need.

Did you know? E-books are good for the environment. E-books save trees and reduce carbon footprints just by being digital and online and are reducing printing and resenting in less trees being cut.

E-books also benefit those with special needs; e-readers can read texts aloud, making them accessible to those who are visually impaired; they have built-in dictionaries making it easy to understand certain words; and they can be adjusted to different font sizes and suit one’s reading style.

While you might be wondering, aren’t e-books going to affect your eyes? Well yes, but no. Allow me to clarify e-books that are designed to mimic paper-like feelings; they cause little to no eye damage, but those with LCD screens are recommended to take breaks between long reading sessions.

In general, surveys and studies have found that 59% of teachers prefer e-books in class rooms to support the curriculum; this includes electric versions of popular fiction and nonfiction books, digital text, and books and studies, and found that 74% of students prefer e-books in terms of affordability and portability.

Over all, the integration of e-books into the education system offers numerous benefits. e-Books provide a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution to traditional books and provides a friendly alternative to divers learning needs. The long-term advantages of e-books include ease of updating and reduced physical burden. Making them an asset to modern learning education.
