Jewelry Designing
Jewelry is one of many revelations of metaphoric languages, worn as a form of
adornment to enhance beauty. Designing jewelry in a broader prospect is the
translation of creative impulses and refined desires, or inspirations into
something tangible and practical. It is always well reciprocated with the
allowance of movement of the wearer’s bodily parts, hence wear-ability.
Commercially, jewelry is segregated based on its intrinsic value, materials
used or the genres of the designs. However, ‘jewelry’ as a term coalesce all that
what is tangible and ornamental, irrespective of any restrictive or liberating
classifications which can be empowering or disempowering for the designer or
the wearer, because of its nature being intimate to the skin and materialized
expression of a message (a possession or/and display). A Piece of jewelry may be
an additional asset and serve as a piece of property or savings, a piece of art, or a
legacy wrapped in blankets of sensitivity and emotions.
Besides, gold in Hinduism is amongst other metals and precious gems or
crystals which are considered as a symbol of auspicious blessings from heaven.
Hence, designing a piece of jewelry is a very deliberate process of creation by
proficient faculties. As a stream to build a career on, individual having an
education at least upto the eighth standard are eligible for a diploma. Moreover,
an advanced diploma or graduation is also possible if the candidate has qualified
upto 10th or higher secondary. A short span certification course to obtain
specialised knowledge in any of the subsidiary subjects though would require a
much stronger educational background. For governmental institutes, a certain
percentage of marks in the secondary exam and entrance exams is also required.
