While, a career in the IAS sets one up for a life of power, prestige, job-security,
occasional perks and a comfortable post-retirement life supported by offering
consultancy and liasoning services; it is pertinent to realise that entry into the
service should be considered as a privilege and a fruitful chance to channel the
dynamism and vivacity of the new recruits into progressive activities that
contribute to the building of the nation; especially at a time when the society has
been plagued by numerous inequities.
