Vaken found a white envelope on his table. The word
REVENGE was written with blood in bold letters. He was dazed

at the moment and tried to open the envelope with his
trembling hands. He found a slip and on that slip, an umbrella

was drawn with a few words like: DEATH, END, CHILDREN,
REVENGE, FAMILY and at the corner of the slip, it was written

that-“Vakens’ end is near”. The fear of death held him firmly in
its grip. He did not take a minute to understand that it was
Shemp’s bad deed to frighten him. After placing the slip on its

desired position, Shemp stood outside the room and was
peeping through the window curtains. He was secretly looking

at Mr. Vaken’s white face and got happy from the inside. The
slip inside the envelope showed Shemp’s inventiveness. It was

the right time for revenge from Vakens’. Watchman and maid
were on leave. The house was occupied by only Vakens’ and

Jazz. Shemp started to torment them. Firstly, making spooky
noises, he went to the lawn and began to shake the branches

of a blueberry tree to catch the attention of Vakens’. On
noticing the ghostly sound, Mr. Vaken threw the slip on the

floor and saw Shemp in the lawn shaking the branches of
blueberry tree.

The entire mystery of the ghost was about to be disclosed to
Mrs. Vaken. In great shock, Mr. and Mrs. Vaken came face to

face with Shemp in the lawn. That time, Shemp’s face was
identifiable but he was unknown to Mrs. Vaken. Therefore, she

was trying to identify him. Shemp’s appearance was blood-
curdling, he was dressed in a black overcoat, a big hat and a
