CHAPTER 13

The lighthouse of the valley flashed at night. Mr. Vaken came
home very late after dropping Renzia to the airport. The maid

served dinner. When dinner was over, Vakens’ adjourned to
the sitting room. Children’s educational tour became a matter

of discussion. An educational excursion to a place of historical
importance was planned by the school of the children. Bitz and

Nikky were quite exuberant about the trip. Their neighbouring
friends of the same school were also joining the trip. Their
parents showed their approval by smiling broadly. The next

day was their date of journey. The tour was going to be a long-

expedition of six days and five nights. There is no exaggeration
to the fact that- “Travel and education are two wonderful
aspects that both blend well together”. Mrs. Vaken thought

that-“Educational tours play an important role in educating
learners in a practical manner and give an opportunity to

relate classroom learning to the real world situation”.

Terminating the discussion, being a solicitous mother she went
to pack her children’s baggage. She also gave them some
specific instructions. Mr. Vaken was somewhat happy by

children’s tour as he wanted to keep them away with those
supernormal events.

Next day, the morning was cold and wet with a brisk wind

sweeping the rain across the valley. Children departed to
school to go on an educational tour. Mr. and Mrs. Vaken were
the only people left in the modern villa. In his bedroom, Mr.
