                             but  it  is  advisable  to  update  your  skills  with  multi  specialization.  Certification
                             should be obtained from a reputed yoga institute for an added advantage.
                             Career prospects
                             The demand for skilled and qualified yoga teachers is increased. Yoga instructors
                             may be self-employed, own a yoga centre or take up a part-time or full-time job.
                             Expected salary
                             It depends on the educational qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. In
                             India,  the  average  earnings  of  a  yoga  professional  can  be  anywhere  between
                             Rs.15,000 to Rs. 1,00,000/-per month. It also depends on the type of work. For
                             example, a yoga instructor working in a studio or a corporate company can earn
                             an  average  monthly  income  from  Rs.  25,000  to  Rs.  50,000  and  a  job  in  an
                             educational  institute  can  offer  a  salary  of Rs.  15,000 to  Rs.  25,000.    A  job  in
                             government sector can have a salary of Rs. 35,000 to Rs.
                             75,000; while a freelance yoga instructor can earn up to Rs. 75,000 per month.
                             Demand

                             Yoga  schools,  gyms  or  fitness  centres,  sports  institutions,  hospitals,  hotels,
                             resorts, spas and corporate companies are the common places where yoga is in
                             demand.  Specialized  yoga  therapy  sessions  are  required  for  those  in  need  of
                             controlling  their  illness  with  yoga  as  a  supportive  therapy.  This  group  covers
                             people  with  high  blood  pressure,  diabetes,  heart  disease,  musculoskeletal
                             disorders,  thyroid  disorders,  obesity,  cancer,  psychosomatic  disorders,  anxiety,
                             depression, etc. to name a few.
                             My experience

                             I  have been  practicing  yoga  for  the  last  21  years  and it  has  helped  me  in  my
                             transformation in physical, emotional, social and spiritual areas of life. It helped
                             me improve my confidence, self-esteem, work efficiency, stress coping skills and
                             overall well being. I have grown as a person and learned many things on this
                             incredible journey.
                                    Let  us  understand  the  true  essence  and  spirit  of  yoga.  Let  this  be  a
                             transition from an outward focus to inward focus and from the selfies to the
                             insights  about  ‘the  true  self’.  Practicing  yoga  should  be  the  beginning  of  a
                             lifelong journey. Celebrate health, celebrate yoga!
