Space Scientist
Space science is a branch of science that deals with the study of the universe. In
space science, scientists research the universe. There are two kinds of Space
scientists-i)Physicists and ii) Astronomers. Physicists focus on theoretical areas
of the field and laboratory equipment. They are responsible for understanding
how things function in space. Whereas, astronomers study the outer space, i.e.
stars, planets, galaxies etc. In spite of the field, an individual chooses, all roads
lead to a career in space science.
Space Science is the application of science to study space
and accompanying things. If one wants to pursue
a career in space sciences, then working on
exciting projects of new satellites and/or
developing technologies to map some
unfound planets should be in the picture. You
might be responsible for some groundbreaking
discoveries related to our Universe; now, isn't that
cool?
• There are two kinds of Space scientists, Physicists and Astronomers
• Space scientists are sought after in the Space research organizations of the different
nations
• Degree requirements include bachelors/masters/PhD after 10+2 in science
• Vikram Sarabhai initiated the space research in India and is known as the father
of Indian Space program

Most of the people working in Space Science have to have a PhD.
However, with the specialized fields cropping up, it is required that you complete
your education in the said field. For example, all of you are already familiar with
Astronomy. It is nothing but a scientific study of the Universe, in relation to the
celestial objects as well as the latitudes and longitudes of the places on the Earth.
The second specialized field in space sciences also includes
Astrophysics. It is a much-known branch of astronomy, dealing with the physical
nature of the said celestial objects. On the other hand, Astrobiology is the study
