Veteran Viswanathan Anand a chess player who doesn’t need any introduction, who made  friends Chariot, Horse, Elephant, Soldiers ,who has earned an apt nickname for himself “ lightning kid” of India, his brains work way too faster than the speed of light when it comes to play chess or to make smart and jiff moves in chess.  Nobody was ever so interested in Vishwanathan Anand before the year 1987 because this is the year he made all Indians  proud, this is the he created history by winning the World Junior Chess Championship and the following year he was entitled the first grandmaster of chess from India.

How he created history

This didn’t stop there from a boy hailing from South India. He remained persistent, determined and this burning desire to outwit all the glorious chess players they are there in the world. He did so because he had his set mind too; he made another history in the year 2000, because he became the first Indian to win the FDIC world championship. There is quite a thing about this legendary trend setter that put his fans in astonishment. Even that makes him so different from other sportsmen; normally, you might have  come across a sportsman or woman who has just become world champion perhaps either one or two times, while he brought this glory five times. If we talk about the list of awards  in his plates, it seems like endless, however it worth mentioning a few like first ever Indian to get Chess oscar for 6 times, prestigious Padma Shri at the age of 18, Padam Bhushan In 2007, and also Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award  . Also this is also no less to have a planet officially named as “(4538) Vishy Anand.

His Battle With Chess

Whenever we read about any sports person, it isn’t the date he was born on or the place he belongs to that charms the people. More or less it is an actual story of overcoming hurdles with sheer determination that comes in way. It is a story of unwavering faith to be on top that appeals, it is a story of standing out and outwitting others calmly that everybody is interested in.

So to start with, Hardly  have the GenX ever realized how difficult it had been for him in the times when the internet was a luxury, even if it was far too difficult to get books, nevertheless, he made his way through. One of the greatest advantages that he was fortunate to get his first learning began at home and from mother, whom we all consider as the first teacher one can have. Then thereafter gradually his hobby turned into his passion. Every day he intensified his desire and all this led him to be a national player just at the age of 14 and the grandmaster of chess.

How He Knocked failure Down

He reached the zenith of success though, however it is not like human beings not to ever face failure. He did become the recipient of failure too. Year after year, his every event was bringing despair and misery. He couldn’t stand when he was eliminated from the Rapid Grand Prix in Dubai. He was in shock because it was his forte, but he didn’t give up, actually he came up with his own strategy to handle the failure. He started thinking himself as a six year old boy again who used to play game games pleasurably  with the speed of light without worrying about people, without the fear of failure ,without taking undue pressure of people’s hope. He took every failure as an opportunity to learn something new, he self criticized himself and geared himself up for a new challenge passionately, for he understood each game is important and you shouldn’t get obsessed by your own success. He worked way too hard and brought this game to the public eye during those times when everybody liked to hook up to the TV screen just for one popular sport, cricket.

What’s in There for Children And Youth

Vishwanath Annad has made this game so popular in India that most parents want their kid to play chess. Youth can pick up chess as their profession, but for that they need to have FIDE rating > 2200.  Or this they might look up for training options as a next step, these days people are taking pleasure of technology by taking online classes from the best coaches across the world, some join the academy or special training, but some believe in self tutoring through books or through plethora of online websites because they know the truth that they can be their own best teacher on any day, in any setting and under circumstances, although it’s a bit daunting at first. In addition to that, a player also gets benefit from active participation in different tournaments.

Appeal to Children and Youth

There’s no doubt that youth today understands that it is not easy to be legendary, iconic, historian ,and the best of the best. But they also understand nothing is impossible if you’re set your mind to. Vishwanath Anand has done his part very well, now it’s your turn to repeat history, it’s your turn to let Indians feel proud of you. It’s true that it just takes to develop profoundness for the game and readiness to devote your entire future until you carve a success story for yourself as Vishwanath Anand 2.0.
