As we all know that world is suffering from Socio and economic effects of corona-out break and the only solution to contain the spread of the coronavirus outbreak and prevent serious strains on health systems and economies across Globe is Social Distancing. But it’s not easy to operate infected patients if you follow social distancing. As over 100 Doctors and Nurses have died combating CORONA VIRUS across the Globe.

So there is an intelligent way to reduce the chance of spreading Covid-19 i.e. Artificial Intelligence.

Now the first thing comes in Mind is ‘’What is Artificial Intelligence?’’

The answer is “It is the undertaking to create or mimic human knowledge in machines.”Artificial intelligence & applied science are making it simple, faster, and cheaper to see how the virus spreads, how to manage it, and how to reduce its effects.

We can design Screeners for screenings of infected peoples. Covid-19 Screener provides a easy, straight forward chat interface, displaying patients with a series of questions based on data from the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) & HealthCare experts. In this way, it too can screen large numbers of people and rapidly differentiate between those who might really be infected with Covid-19 and those who are likely to be suffering from less threatening illness. We anticipate this Screener will alleviate high volumes of patient traffic to the hotline, and extend and stratify the system’s care in ways that would have been unimaginable until recently. Development is now under way to facilitate triage of patients with symptoms to most appropriate care setting, including virtual urgent care, primary care providers, respiratory illness clinics, or the emergency department. Most importantly.

Physicians & researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital are investigating the possible use of intelligent robots built at Boston Dynamics and MIT to deploy in Covid surge clinics and patient wards to perform tasks that would otherwise require human interaction in an attempt to reduce transmission of diseases.Several governments and health networks around the globe have utilized AI-Based sensors in innovative ways to facilitate triages.

Baidu, a Chinese engineering firm, developed a no-contact infrared sensor device for easily detecting people with a flu, even in crowds. Qinghe railway station in Beijing is fitted with this device to classify potentially infectious people, replacing a tedious manual screening procedure.

Likewise, in conjunction with Care.ai, Florida’s Tampa Medical center implemented an AI device to block people with suspected Covid-19 signs from approaching patients at its openings. The system conducts a facial thermal scan by cameras installed at the entrances and picks up on other signs, including sweat and discoloration, to ward off fevered guests. The AI is used to monitor the effects of Covid-19, provide decision support for CT scans and optimize hospital processes. Meanwhile, China’s Zhongnan Hospital uses an AI-driven CT scan translator that detects Covid-19 when there are no radiologists present. China’s Wuhan Wuchang Hospital set up a smart field hospital which was mostly operated by robots. Vital signs of patients have been tracked using the linked. Intelligent robots delivered medicine and food to patients Ease practitioner exposure to the virus and ease the workload of stressed health care workers. And in South Korea, the government has launched an app that encourages people to self-report symptoms, alerting them if they exit a “quarantine zone” to mitigate the influence of “super-spreaders” that otherwise would go on infecting vast communities.

Canada based Blue Dot has leveraged machine learning and natural language processing to track, recognize, and report the spread of the virus quicker than the World Health Organization and the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Technologies like this can be used in the immediate and far future to forecast the likelihood of zoonotic transmission to humans taking into consideration factors such as climate change and human activities. The integrated study of medical, clinical, travel and social data, including family history and behavioral patterns from outlets such as social media, would make for more precise and reliable forecasts of patient risk factors and outcomes in health care. Though there could be questions about the possible violation of individual civil liberties, government controls encountered by many AI systems must ensure that this technology is used responsibly

In the COVID-19 crisis, AI has enhanced its diagnostic time by technologies such as that built by Linking Med, a Beijing-based oncology web portal and medical data analysis company. Pneumonia, a serious complication of COVID-19 infection, may now be identified with sensitivity as high as 92 percent and a recall rate of 97 percent on check data sets from an interpretation of a CT scan in less than sixty seconds. An accessible-source AI model, which examined CT pictures and not only defined lesions but also quantified in terms of number, volume and proportion, made this possible. This app, a novel in China, was motivated by Paddle Paddle, the deep learning application open-source to Baidu.

Sensory AI-based cameras is used in airports, schools, nursing homes etc. The system identifies people with fever automatically and monitors their movements, recognizes their faces and identifies whether the person wears a face mask.

This can happen when we do not completely match the priorities of the AI with ours, which is remarkably difficult to do. If you ask a loyal smart car to take you to the airport as quickly as possible, it might get you there chased by aircraft and coated in blood, not doing what you wanted but simply doing what you asked for.If an aggressive weather modification project is charged with a super intelligent device, it could wreak havoc with our environment as a side-effect, and see human efforts to stop it as a challenge to be met.

There’s always another dimension of Artificial Intelligence. The AI is designed to do something good, but it can use a destructive method to accomplish its objective.

“Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.” — Stephen Hawking, Famous Theoretical Physicist, Cosmologist, and Author.

  1. You have done a great thesis work Mousumi.
Hats off to your knowledge and ideas. If used it can really help and save humanity.
AI is developing at its peak. And it should be used as it can make mass screening possible and till long run. And it may also check irrespective of time lapse.. i.e. in long run as we have to fight this epedemic and pendemic… For long… N long…

    Hats off to your ideas..
